On the front is the logo of the organization Het Sameverband 1572-municipalities. The organization draws attention to the origin of the Netherlands in the years around 1572 and the variety of stories that go with it. At the bottom are the Mint Master’s sign and the Mint House sign.

Reverse
The reverse shows the (sixth) loud bell of the Catharijnetoren in Brielle. The clock was taken into use on April 1, 2022: this day it was exactly 450 years ago that Brielle was taken by the Watergeuzen.
The (sound) waves around the clock spread the four important terms surrounding the birth of the Netherlands: Freedom, Tolerance, Connectedness, and Diversity. These values, which played a major role in 1572, are more relevant than ever 450 years later, in 2022.
